SLow
SLow is a cultural space set up by Alastair Fuad-Luke in 2004 to stimulate debate around the
concept of ‘slow design’. It links with existing thought clusters that perceive ‘design’
and ‘slowness’ as a positive influence towards more
sustainable ways of living. It is an on-going dialogue; an
open-ended project.
The content on this web site is actually a ‘slow archive’ of my thoughts in 2004/early 2005. In 2005 I joined the Board of slowLab, http://www.slowlab.net a New York not-for-profit founded by Carolyn Strauss. slowLab has (slowly) evolved to give depth and breadth to the debate and, in 2009, is developing a ‘slow [design] matrix’ to encourage greater participation in slowness for positive change.
